Coomarkane Visitor Centre

Ideally situated as a walk-from or walk-to destination for walkers, the  Coomarkane Visitor Centre is the perfect base to organise your day’s walking trips. Situated about four miles from Glengarriff, the centre is nestled in the Coomarkane valley and only a stones throw away from the beauty of the valleys, mountains and lakes which surround Glengarriff. It is also within easy reach of the Glengarriff Nature Reserve nestled in the woods not far away

Plan your trip in the café and fill up with a hot drink and some food for the journey ahead. The centre also has bathroom facilities with the option of a shower if walkers would like to freshen up before heading on to their destination. The site also have camping and glamping facilities in a beautiful natural woodland near a river within view of the mountains.

They can cater for groups of walkers in the café, making packed lunches in advance, when given 24hr notice. Hiking and camping equipment is also available along with information about local walks, the history of the valley, bus times and taxi numbers etc. So all-in- all, a walkers paradise!
